The medical education pathway in the Philippines begins with a Pre-Medical course, which usually lasts 1.5 to 2 years. This phase builds a strong foundation in basic sciences and is mandatory for students who have completed 12th grade.

After completing the pre-med course, students enter the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, which is equivalent to MBBS. The MD program has a duration of 4 years.
